Albert Ammons is rightly feted as the King of Boogie Woogie. America's Boogie Woogie craze of the late 30's and early 40's was originally in the hands of a few Black pianists before the big bands got a hold of the style and developed it into the biggest music craze the world had then seen. Here are 36 of Albert Ammons' greatest recordings on a fantastic double CD set, recorded between 1939 and 1949 mostly in Chicago.
