(2-CD set) One of the great love affairs between a musician and a country was the long term relationship between George Lewis and the people of Japan. Lewis had some of his greatest successes there and he developed a strong affection for the Japanese people. The music on this CD was recorded during his final 90-day tour of Japan in 1965, where the band played in virtually every town from isolated fishing villages to mountain hamlets. The group featured the great Kid Thomas Valentine on trumpet, as well as trombonist Louis Nelson, banjo/pianist Charlie Hamilton, bassist Placide Adams and drummer Alonzo Stewart.
