The second studio album by German heavy metal band U.D.O. It was released in 1989. "Mean Machine" has received well-deserved recognition from fans of German heavy metal. And was rated at the time with the highest score by the magazine "Metal Hammer". Nothing to add. Classic.

One of my favorite albums of comrade Udo Dirkschneider and his solo project. And although the material presented on this disc is devoid of any new ideas, this work is being listened to, in my opinion, it is still wonderful. Moreover, having listened to “Mean Machine” many times, I could not find flaws on it. As always, excellent recording quality, professional playing of musicians, Udo's inimitable vocals - the disc is teeming with all these qualities. It must be said that the sound in this work was much tougher than on Animal House, which only goes to the music of the group. The album is packed to the eye with great things, such as the high-speed opener “Don’t Look Back”, the thundering “Streets on Fire” and the same name “Mean Machine”, the perky “Painted Love” and “Catch My Fall”. There is also a beautiful ballad “Sweet Little Child” (with a cool solo part in the middle). Somewhat surprised by the track called “Still in Love with You” - a kind of joke from the group, played in the spirit. . . Napalm Death (!!). As a result, we have another great example of classic heavy metal from the master of the genre. Highly recommend.

I remember when this album was released in 1989. There was a time when the heavy metal was on top of charts. Great music, worth to listen again.
