Description:Funkadelic add Bootsy Collins to the line-up and start to get more funky, as the classic P-Funk sound comes to the fore on the outrageous â??Better By The Poundâ?? and â??Be My Beachâ??. - ..STAGE
UK only vinyl pressing. Despite it's misleading title, Funkadelic's Let's Take It to the Stage is not a live album. This 1975 studio release is what many Funkadelic aficionados consider the band's last true rock-funk album, before Clinton and Co. Concentrated entirely on more dance-based and radio-friendly material. It is also the first Parliament-Funkadelic release to prominently feature the talents of the groups' recently acquired bassist, the outrageous Bootsy Collins, whom many regard as the very embodiment of funk. Let's Take It to the Stage also finds Parliament-Funkadelic on the verge of shedding it's long-lived cult status and finally reaching wide spread commercial success. Westbound. 2006.

"Let's Take it to the Stage" is a landmark LP by Funkadelic, released in 1975 and reissued by Ace Records. This album captures the raw energy and boundary-pushing creativity that defined Funkadelic's sound during their most influential era. Blending psychedelic rock, funk grooves, and biting social commentary, tracks like "Get Off Your Ass and Jam," "Be My Beach," and the title track showcase George Clinton?s visionary leadership alongside dazzling musicianship from Eddie Hazel, Bootsy Collins, and Bernie Worrell. The record stands as an essential piece of funk history?wildly inventive yet irresistibly danceable. Ace Records has built a reputation for high-quality reissues of classic soul, R&B, blues, jazz, and funk albums since its founding in 1978 in London. Their commitment to preserving musical heritage makes this edition of "Let's Take it to the Stage" a must-have for collectors. Funkadelic emerged in the late 1960s under mastermind George Clinton as one of America?s most innovative bands. Fusing elements of rock with deep funk rhythms and surreal lyrics, they broke new ground with albums like "Maggot Brain" (1971) before reaching wider acclaim through hits such as ?One Nation Under a Groove.? Their influence extends across genres?from hip-hop sampling pioneers to modern-day funk revivalists?and their legacy remains foundational within popular music.

Legendary album... Electric Ladyland's little brother. . "Free Your Mind" and "Maggot Brain" are also great listens, but there are points on those albums where the boys stop rocking, and after "Maggot Brain" they lost some of that psychedelic rock feel. 5 stars
