Digitally remastered two fer containing a pair of albums from the Jazz great. Contains, for the first time ever on CD, the two initial LPs by Herbie Mann and his New York Jazz Quartet in their entirety. The two albums compiled here are New York Jazz Quartet and Music for Suburban Living. This short-lived group, which only produced three albums, featured an unusual instrumentation for Jazz, consisting of Mann on reeds (flute, alto flute, clarinet and tenor sax), Joe Puma on guitar, Dutch player Mat Mathews on accordion, and Whitey Mitchell on bass.
