(2-CD Set) The Dave Brubeck Quartet achieved a level of commercial success quite unparalleled for a jazz group, scoring hit singles in 1961 and 1962 with "Unsquare Dance," "It's A Raggy Waltz" and their biggest international seller "Take Five," an infectious melody set in 5/4 time. This album traces the progress of the quartet during the early 50s when justly famous albums like "Jazz At Oberlin" and "Jazz At The College Of The Pacific" made such an enormous impact with their original form of chamber jazz, or "cool bebop" as it was sometimes alternatively labeled.
