Description:Type O Negative is an American goth-metal band formed in Brooklyn in 1989 by Peter Steele (lead vocals, bass), Kenny Hickey (guitar, backing vocals), Josh Silver (keyboards, backing vocals), and Sal Abruscato (drums, percussions), who was later replaced by Johnny Kelly. Slow, Deep and Hard is their debut studio album, released in 1991 on Roadrunner Records. The album, originally titled None More Negative and released in 1990 under the group’s former name Repulsion, launched the band’s career. The album has a rawness that was prominent in Peter Steele’s previous band, Carnivore, but it incorporates elements that became standard for Type O Negative, merging styles including doom metal, gothic rock, new wave and industrial music. Slow, Deep and Hard is a semi-autobiographical album with heavy amounts of black humor, based on a failed relationship in which the vocalist/bass guitarist Peter Steele was involved. In keeping with the band’s notable humor, the album’s cover artwork is a blurred image of sexual penetration. For the 30th anniversary of Slow, Deep and Hard, Roadrunner Records in conjunction with Run Out Groove, is reissuing the debut on vinyl in all it’s remastered glory. - -EX CARNIVORE

The first Type O Negative album SLOW DEEP AND HARD is a little bit the contining of legendary CARNIVORE . But it this is a bit different music, not so heavy and aggressive, a bit melon-like, but very good.

The debut studio album by the American gothic metal band Type O Negative, released in 1991. A very strong album. I recommend.

This album sounds like the lead-in to "Bloody Kisses". It's much more raw, the guitar work is more speed metal oriented when it comes to guitar solos, Peter Steele growls and yells more than he sings, and at times there's even a hardcore punk feeling in certain songs.

Great album and does contain what it says it contains, so...if I can keep them from getting scratched again... Type O Forever

Slow, Deep and Hard is the beggining of all disgrace, the raw original of Type O Negative - what a great band! Not the best at all magnifique discography, but the basis for a more solid identity reached at Bloody Kisses, possibly their major materpiece. Recommended for all TON fans.

Slow, Deep and Hard,..der Name ist bei diesem Album Programm, denn es ist wahrlich Slow, Deep and Hard. Eben genau so, wie man Type O Negative mag.
