Gute, solide Handarbeit von einer oft unterschätzten Indierock-Band, die man vor allem mal live gesehen haben sollte.

Seit einiger Zeit tut sich ja bekanntlich auch mal wieder was im Land der dreckigen Gitarren und des billigen Suffs. Nachdem Bands wie The Strokes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, ...Trail Of Dead u.a. gezeigt haben, dass sich ambitioniertes Songwriting in schummerigen Übungskellern wieder lohnt, hat sich auch die Plattenindustrie wieder der Entdeckung neuer Talente in Sachen Indierock gewidmet, und dies mit wachsendem Erfolg. Interpol nennt sich der neue Sonnenstrahl am Horizont des Independent-Valley und wird von der Fachpresse bereits als die Entdeckung des Jahres gefeiert. Zu Recht, wie die vier New Yorker mit ihrem Debut-Longplayer „Turn On The Bright Lights“ eindrucksvoll beweisen.
