"Heavy Metal Maniac" is the explosive debut album by Canadian speed metal pioneers Exciter, released in 1983 and now available on CD from Megaforce. This record is a relentless assault of raw energy, featuring fast-paced riffs, thunderous drumming, and aggressive vocals that helped define the early sound of speed and thrash metal. Tracks like "Stand Up and Fight," "Cry of the Banshee," and the title track have become cult classics among heavy metal fans worldwide. Exciter formed in Ottawa in 1978 and quickly gained recognition for their high-octane performances; they are widely regarded as one of the earliest bands to shape what would become thrash metal alongside legends such as Metallica. Over their career, Exciter has built a loyal global following with albums like "Violence & Force" cementing their legacy within heavy music history. The CD release comes courtesy of Megaforce Records?a legendary label known for launching some of the most influential names in heavy music including Anthrax, Testament, and even giving Metallica their first big break?ensuring this edition meets high standards for audio quality and collector appeal.

This album is insanely good! A pure 80s heavy metal classic! Exciter was one of the first bands that came out to play this kind of speed metal style music in early 80s. Screaming vocals, sharp guitars and pounding double bass drums, this is true heavy metal!

This is a pretty nice early speed metal album.Catchy songs, good loud vocals, and great riffs and solos, combined with a sense of aggression that was quite ahead of its time for the early 80s. A very good album.

Debutalbum der Kanadier, absoluter Kult und stand damals den ersten Slayer Alben in Intensität und Songwriting in nichts nach. Neuauflage incl. mehrerer rarer Bonustracks
