| Description: | Part of the Jean-Pierre Leloir 180 gram vinyl Collection, Miles Davis was one of the most important and influential figures in jazz history. The sound of his trumpet â?? completely identifiable given his use of the Harmon mute â?? gave him a personal and intimate feeling, a soft and mellodious sound which frequently led to lyricism and
introspection. He was superb playing ballads, and some of his best studio performances of the genre can be found on this LP, which includes works with small groups, mainly quartets presenting Miles as the only horn. - 2010 collection from the Jazz great that compiles Miles' best ballad interpretations, recorded during his golden age of acoustic Jazz in the mid-1950s. His intimate and subtle sound is present throughout this compilation, which includes many quartet performances (with Miles as the main soloist), as well as other tracks recorded in a quintet format.
