This is a classic Slayer album, not only Slayer and Thrash metal totally. No comments. As for me this remastering version sounds better than a first press.

This album is a beautifully sonic and sludgy metal album that metal fans will all adore,and it should be in Slayer fans collection for sure. Yea it isn't Haunting the Chapel(ep) or Show No Mercy but it is heavy,not all metal albums have to be super sonic and fast with 100mpg riffs.

It was the band's last album to feature their full original lineup with drummer Dave Lombardo until his return on the band's 2006 album Christ Illusion. Seasons in the Abyss' musical style has been compared by critics to the band's previous two albums, South of Heaven (1988) and Reign in Blood (1986).

My acquaintance with Slayer began with this very album, back in the last millennium. A phenomenal album that took me into the world of extreme and formed the ideas about it, which I am still guided by. Fundamental work!
