"Twisted Into Form" is the acclaimed second studio album by Forbidden, released in 1990 and now available on CD through Century Media Catalog. This record stands as a milestone in technical thrash metal, showcasing intricate guitar work, complex song structures, and powerful vocals that have influenced countless bands within the genre. The album features standout tracks such as "Infinite," "Step by Step," and the title track "Twisted Into Form," all of which highlight Forbidden's evolution from their raw debut to a more sophisticated sound without sacrificing intensity.
Forbidden emerged from the Bay Area thrash scene in the late 1980s and quickly gained recognition for their musicianship and energetic live performances. Their debut album "Forbidden Evil" set high standards, but it was with "Twisted Into Form" that they truly cemented their legacy among thrash metal elites. Over the years, Forbidden has toured extensively with major acts like Slayer and Testament, earning respect worldwide.
Century Media Catalog is renowned for its dedication to heavy music genres including metal, hardcore, and hard rock. As one of the leading independent labels since its founding in 1988, Century Media has played an essential role in promoting groundbreaking artists across decades?making them a trusted source for quality releases like this classic reissue.
American thrash in all its glory, with a touch of progressive. Forbidden remained in the second echelon of thrash teams along with Exodus, Flotsam and Jetsam and others, from time to time playing the role of a forge of cadres for older comrades (drummer Paul Bostaf, as you know, left the group to decorate albums with his high-precision, but rather cold play Slayer of the 90s). And “Twisted Into Form” is quite pleasant to listen to: it is not tightened, it is equipped with sensible vocals, high-speed riffs, touching sorties, spacious bridges, syncops ... But in the process of listening, a comparison with many other bands of that time, for example with Intruder, comes to mind. Perhaps, what this talented gang really lacked was really its face ...
As already mentioned, listening to such a technical gang is very pleasant, Calvert and Lokisero’s parts, Anderson’s screams and Bostaf’s hirugic hammerhead defector are worthy of all praise, but practically nothing gets stuck in my head after listening (except maybe “R.I.P.”). The only but significant drawback.

Amazing album even better than the debut. This album is the epitome of thrash and back then Forbidden were the undisputed kings of the genre!
