Der Universalgelehrte Faust stellt fest, dass die
wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse, von denen er in seiner
Jugend geschwärmt hat, keine ausreichende Angaben
beinhalten, wie die Welt oder das Leben wirklich ist.

Daraufhin schließt der Doktor in seinem ewigen Streben nach
Wissen einen verhängnisvollen Pakt mit
Mephisto. Mehr und mehr vergisst er dabei seine moralischen
und ethischen Werte und verfolgt als rastloser Forscher
seine Ziele ohne Rücksicht auf seine Umwelt.
