Description:	Der an Altersarthritis und dem Verlust seiner Frau leidende Maler Auguste Renoir (Michel Bouquet) lebt 1915 an der Côte dAzur. Zusammen mit seinem Sohn Jean (Vincent Rottiers) führt er ein unaufgeregtes und zurückgezogenes Leben. Die Malerei ist nach wie vor seine große Leidenschaft. Als plötzlich die junge und unbekümmerte Andrée (Christa Theret) in das Leben des Malers tritt, um für ihn Modell zu stehen, erwachen in ihm ganz neue Energien. Motiviert und beschwingt beginnt er zu malen und dabei aufzublühen. Andrée kann schnell sein Herz gewinnen. Auch der im Krieg verwundete Jean, der in einem Kampf fast sein Bein verlor, bekommt durch Andrée neuen Lebensmut. Mit ihr kann er vor allem seine Leidenschaft für das Kino teilen und die schwere Last, die durch den Erfolg seines Vaters auf seinen Schultern liegt, fast vergessen. Er beginnt zu sich selbst zu finden und aus dem Schatten seines Vaters herauszutreten.
