Description:	Ostberlin, 80er-Jahre. Zwei Familien, die gegensätzlicher nicht sein könnten. Als sich Martin in Julia verliebt, erschüttert diese Liebe die Fundamente, auf denen das Leben der beiden Familien steht. Zwei Familien im Ostberlin der 80er Jahre, die Kupfers und die Hausmanns, die gegensätzlicher nicht sein könnten. Familie Kupfer funktioniert als mächtiges Rad im DDR- System, der Vater Hans und der älteste Sohn Falk sind hohe Offiziere im Ministerium für Staatssicherheit. Der jüngste Sohn Martin ist Volkspolizist. Die Hausmanns dagegen stammen aus dem staatskritischen Milieu. Die Mutter Dunja wird als Liedermacherin von der Staatssicherheit über wacht und die hübsche Tochter Julia gilt als potentieller Republikflüchtling.
