| | Description: | Le Groupe Des Six: Selected Works 1915-1945 is an album by Les Six, released in 2009. The album is a classical 2-CD. - 150 MINUTE REMASTERED 2CD SET2009 two CD release, documenting links between avant-garde music and art in the 20th Century. Mentored by Erik Satie and Jean Cocteau from 1917 to 1923, the celebrated group of young French composers known as Les Six comprised Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc and Germaine Taillefaire. This 150 minute re-mastered double CD set features selected piano and orchestral works by Les Six composed between 1915 and 1945, including collaborations with Jean Cocteau, Guillaume Apollinaire, Max Jacob, Marcelle Meyer and Denise Duval. All selections were recorded between 1928 and 2007, including some personally performed or conducted by the composers themselves. The booklet includes archive images and detailed historical notes by James Hayward.This 160 minute anthology features selected piano and orchestral works by Les Six composed between 1915 and 1945, including collaborations with Jean Cocteau, Guillaume Apollinaire, Max Jacob, Marcelle Meyer and Denise Duval. Includes a digitally remastered cast recording of the Surrealistic opera Les Mamelles de Tirésias, co-created by Francis Poulenc and Apollinaire, and new recordings of Dada-related works performed by Peter Beijersbergen van Henegouwen.
