Description:

Hauptprotagonisten der Serie sind der kauzige Inspector Tom Barnaby (gespielt vom Shakespeare-Darsteller John Nettles) und sein stets korrekter Kollege Sergeant Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey), die in der - fiktiven - Grafschaft Midsomer (wie die Fans wissen: eindeutig (!) die Gegend mit der höchsten Verbrechensrate in England) auf ruchlose Gräueltaten, kuriose Mordinstrumente (wie eine Heugabel, ein gedoptes Pferd, ein Diaprojektor oder eine Getränke-Bar) sowie exzentrische Zeitgenossen treffen und mit Intuition und Understatement die skurrilsten Fälle lösen.
