In the early 1960s, Wergo launched a series that would become legendary in the history of contemporary music recordings. Luc Ferrari may not be the most famous name in the series, but his music had a profound impact on music of the time. His mixing of magnetic tape and instruments, inspired by Varese, was combined with pioneering work in the area of ambient music and the use of natural sounds. This collection, which features pianist Gerard Fremy, includes a sampling of Ferrari's fascinating compositions.
