HYUNG RAE K. - 29/May/2022 4 of 5 Stars!
I listened to this for the 1st time in 2002 and I couldn't work out based on its style and lyrics when it was released. It didn't sound like anything else. Needless to say I love this record. It's purposeful, deep and ultimately life affirming. It creeps and crawls, then suddenly explodes before going back to creeping and crawling.

What can I say - a purely professional, solid, tough, sometimes depressively lyrical (relatively) kind of alternative metal (somewhere, in my opinion, "alternative" grind appears). Even BNR Metal Pges finds it difficult to specifically define the genre of this music. And is it important! The inimitable vocals of Maynard James Keenan, the excellent work of drummer Danny Carey, the rest of the guys throw out all the accumulated depression and anger at this crappy world, great music, technical moves and guitar riffs. Their signature features are a kind of musical soundscreensavers. Also quite interesting, although often very protracted.

I like this album - great production - very "darkness" songs - very good musical ideas - I recommend
