Descripción:	Michel denkt sich immer wieder neue Streiche aus und bringt damit die Familie, die Nachbarn, ja sogar das ganze Dorf hin und wieder zur Verzweiflung. Sogar Geld haben die Leute von Lönneberga schon gesammelt, um Michel nach Amerika zu schicken. Aber Lina meint, die Amerikaner seien schon genug mit ihren Erdbeben gestraft. Da solle man sie doch vor der Katastrophe Michel bewahren! Dabei meint es Michel doch nie böse, wenn er zum Beispiel für den Vater Flusskrebse fängt. Das die dummen Viecher aus dem Korb krabbeln und den Vater gehörig zwicken, dafür kann doch Michel nichts, oder? Als sein Freund Alfred an einer Blutvergiftung erkrankt, vergehen Michel alle Streiche. Ein heftiger Schneestrum tobt, und der Arzt kann nicht kommen. Da zeigt Michel den Einwohnern von Lönneberga, dass er ein Held ist. Mitten in der Nacht schirrt er das Pferd an und bringt den todkranken Alfred zum Arzt.
