Every Mother's Son, best known for their Summer of Love Top 10 hit 'Come on Down to My Boat Baby', was born in Greenwich Village in the spring of 1966. Brothers Larry and Dennis Larden decided to fuse their folk background with rock elements, adding organist Bruce Milner, bassist Schuyler Larsen, and drummer Christopher Augustine to the mix to create a fantastic, Monkees/Turtles-esque pop outfit. Included here are their two Wes Farrell-produced, 1967 LPs: Every Mothers' Son and Every Mothers' Son's Back; the latter of which was even more creatively ambitious than their debut and has never before been issued on CD-until NOW! Also included is their only non-LP single, 'No One Knows.' the 16-page, full-color booklet includes rare, previously-unpublished photos, and extensive liner notes featuring the participation of original band members. Now Sounds."Come on Down: The Complete MGM Recordings" is a comprehensive CD collection by Every Mothers' Son, released by Cherry Red Records. This release brings together all the recordings made by the band for MGM Records during their brief but impactful career in the late 1960s. Every Mothers' Son achieved fame with their hit single "Come On Down to My Boat," which became a Top 10 smash in 1967 and remains an iconic piece of sunshine pop history. The group was known for its melodic harmonies and catchy tunes that captured the spirit of American pop-rock at the time.
