In 1967, Bardot and Gainsbourg would record the original 'Je t'aime moi non plus' and conduct a clandestine affair. At the start of the sixties, however, while Gainsbourg was busy establishing himself as enfant terrible de la chanson française, Bardot, having already struck the first cinematic blow for women's liberation with And God Created Woman, was France's biggest star and the symbol for a new breed of femininity and sexuality that would change the world. This release contains the earliest recordings of Brigitte Bardot singing, including the four numbers she performed on her legendary Bonne Année Brigitte French TV special, broadcast on New Year's Eve 1961.
