Working with the same producer and arranger, the follow-up album, 1986 's Forbidden Lover was recorded in Los Angeles; the title track - a soulful duet with singer Carl Anderson - received airplay at R&B stations in the U.S., giving Nancy her first best-selling album (#8 on Billboard's Jazz charts).
