Description:Four Compositions 2000 is an album by Anthony Braxton, released in 2003. The album is a jazz CD. -
To paraphrase the old stock brokerage commercial: "When Anthony Braxton plays, people listen". And they have been doing so for decades, through dozens of recordings spanning an evolution that is remarkable for it's independence and virtuosity. Braxton's first two albums, "Three Compositions of New Jazz" (1968, DMK #415) and "For Alto" (1969, DMK #420) were released on Delmark, and it's only fitting that the present rare quartet version of his self-described "Ghost Trance Music" be released more than thirty years later on the same label. Features Anthony Braxton on woodwinds, Kevin Uehlinger on piano/melodica, Keith Witty on bass, and Noam Schatz on percussion.
"Four Compositions 2000" is a remarkable CD by the innovative jazz composer and multi-instrumentalist Anthony Braxton, released under the renowned Delmark label. This album features four original compositions that showcase Braxton's unique approach to avant-garde jazz, blending complex structures with improvisational brilliance. Known for pushing musical boundaries, Braxton delivers an engaging listening experience that challenges and rewards attentive audiences. Delmark Records, established in Chicago in 1953, has long been celebrated for its dedication to authentic jazz and blues recordings, supporting groundbreaking artists throughout its history. Anthony Braxton himself is a towering figure in contemporary music; his prolific career includes landmark albums such as "For Alto," which redefined solo saxophone performance, and collaborations with leading figures across genres. His influence on modern jazz remains profound.
