On “Leave Scars,” Californian threshers continue the line of super heavy Thrash. By the end of the eighties, Dark Angel's creative beginning acquired progressive outlines, maintaining the same speed and intensity. The stinging riffs performed at the episode tempo were added with complicated structures with long instrumental parts and all sorts of tricks, and the new vocalist Ron Reinhart hastily spat out the longest texts in Thrash Metal, which this time are devoted to the dark side of the subconscious, psychological traumas, world vision. and other perversions - so after all, with a quick glance at the bright cover, where the tear-stained blonde baby wakes up from a nightmare, and a giant-sized teddy hare looks at all this and ofigevaet, it is clear that the "Leave Scars" is not easy to get off. With the greater variability of the scale, it is an order of magnitude more difficult to withstand the chaotic onslaught of the third album “Angels” than the straightforward face of “Darkness Descends”, moreover, the sound of the instruments is again drowned in the mush mix. For the second time, potential masterpieces of Dark Angel are burying poor-quality production. Of course, even the presence of an inhuman cover on Led Zeppelin did not guarantee the commercial success of the album with long, performed at supersonic speeds, songs, and even with a difficult lyrical background. However, technical skills and the ability to compose multilayer compositions Dark Angel does not hold. Classic Brutal Thrash Metal
