Formed several years ago in Victoria, British Columbia's Ross Bay Cemetery, the same hallowed ground which spawned legendary Canadian extreme metal maniacs Blasphemy, Mitochondrion made waves with their self-released 2008 debut, Archaeaeon. This unique take on death metal was a diabolical blend of Portal and Immolation, stretched out across ten-plus-minute songs.
