Description:Stick Men is comprised of Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson) on acoustic drums and electronic percussion, Tony Levin (King Crimson) on Chapman Stick, and Markus Reuter on Touch Guitar. The recording is a departure from the previous two of the band (Soup and Absalom) - it is all improvised, though based on prepared themes by the band. Improvisation is an important part of the band's live shows, and this is the first time they've focused on that aspect for a CD release. Anyone who has heard anything from Stick Men's hundreds of shows worldwide will know what to expect here.
"Open" is a captivating CD release by the progressive rock trio Stick Men, featuring Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, and Markus Reuter. Known for their innovative blend of experimental rock, jazz fusion, and avant-garde elements, Stick Men have carved out a unique niche in modern instrumental music. The album "Open" showcases the band's signature sound: intricate rhythms, masterful improvisation, and dynamic interplay between Chapman Stick, drums/percussion, and touch guitar. With members who have collaborated with legendary acts like King Crimson and Peter Gabriel (Tony Levin), as well as being pioneers in their own right (Pat Mastelotto's work with Mr. Mister; Markus Reuter?s solo projects), Stick Men continue to push musical boundaries. Released by Unsung Records?a label dedicated to promoting groundbreaking artists across genres?this CD exemplifies both technical prowess and creative exploration.
