Description: | Rhythms Of The South by Edmundo Ros, released 27 September 2013, includes the following tracks: " Bewitched", " June Is Bursting Out All Over", " Hernando's Hideaway", " I Love Paris" and more.
This version of Rhythms Of The South comes as a 2xCD. - EU-only collection. When Edmundo Ros made his first venture in the music business in the late 1930's few people would have anticipated what the future held or it's significance. The young music student from South America certainly had no inkling that he was to become the undisputed king of Latin American dance music in Europe and many other parts of the world. Several of the tracks featured on this collection provide an excellent example of Edmundo's style and the proficiency of his orchestra. "Spanish Gypsy Dance" with it's heavy Spanish influence is one such example along with "La Maxixe" which evokes the Rio Carnival spirit with a Marcha beat. Not to be pigeon-holed, Edmundo has also turned his hand to "sing along" territory; listen to the magical treatment to tracks such as "There's No Business Like Show Business", as well as covering several tunes from some of the world's most famous operas like, "Caro Nome" from Rigoletto. |
