Description:

Internationally acclaimed composer and string arranger John Metcalfe (Duke Quartet / Durutti Column) formerly signed to Factory Classical releases his third solo album 'A Darker Sunset'. John Metcalfe created the orchestrations that accompanied Morissey's No1 album 'Viva Hate'. He has also worked with Blur, Catatonia, Mark Ronson and Simple Minds to name just a few. The album includes a special Nitin Sawhney remix of 'A Whole Day Nearer'. Metcalfe composed live to screen as part of 'The Bays Heritage Orchestra Improvisation' which premiered at Fresh Fest 2008 and he will reprise this event at the Big Chill this year as well as launching 'A Darker Sunset'.
