Description:Forged in the early 80's from several Hamburg bands, Helloween began their monumental rise through the metal ranks via several songs released on a Noise Records Death Metal sampler. From here a deal was struck and their first release proper came in the shape of a now rare 5 track mini album in 1985. Later the same year came the album Walls of Jericho, however, it was the addition of vocalist Michael Kiske for the opus Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I that shook the metal world to it's core. This album and the following Keepers II became the albums that would define the Power Metal genre and provide Helloween with the momentum that still resonates to this day. Walls of Jericho was Helloween's first full-length album following the release of their 5 track mini album in 1985. Becoming an instant classic, it gained much enthusiasm from the metal masses with tracks like 'Ride the Sky' being singled out for particular attention. This 2-disc deluxe expanded edition includes the mini album plus 7 additional tracks of remixes and live versions. WHY BUYS: *Re-mastered and expanded classic from the Teutonic innovators of Power Metal. *Features bonus material including remixes, b-sides and alternative versions. *Fully endorsed by the band. *Deluxe packaging with sleeve notes by Classic Rock's Dave Ling. *Helloween have recently released the third in the series, Keepers-The Legacy. 2006.
Expanded Edition. "Walls of Jericho" and "Ride The Sky" are listed as separate tracks on the packaging but are tracked as one track on the CD. The track #s here have been adjusted accordingly. Disc 1: Tracks 1 to 5 originally released as the "Helloween" mini LP (Noise Records, 1985) Tracks 6 to 14 originally released as the "Walls Of Jericho" LP (Noise Records, 1986) Track 15 originally released on the "Judas" EP (Noise Records, 1986) Disc 2: Tracks 1 & 2 originally released on the "Treasure Chest" compilation (Metal Is Records, 2002) Tracks 3 & 4 originally released on the "Judas" EP Tracks 5 & 6 originally released on the "Death Metal" compilation (Noise Records, 1984) Track 7 originally appeared on the picture disc version of "Helloween" mini LP.
