The Music of Eric von Essen Volume III features many of the same artists from Volume I and II including Nels Cline, Alex Cline, Alan Pasqua, Peter Erskine, Kate McGarry and many others. Jazz Times wrote of Volume I, "The level of interpretation is very high throughout. The soloists are interesting and sometimes arresting and the level of group interaction is consistently engrossing." Volume III is the last of this three volume set, and in many ways the most personal.
