Description: | Saga Sj+¦berg (1911-1997) and Kai Soderman (1927-2010), Swedish folk musicians with successful international careers, sing and play guitar with accompaniment from accordion, violin, cello, and clarinet. Sjoberg's voice ranges from clear and bright to earthy and raw, and is complemented by Soderman's warm, rich baritone. The compilation features beloved Swedish songs spanning three centuries from fishermen's waltzes and romantic laments to cheerful celebrations of Swedish nature. The music is intended for intimate settings and small audiences, as is typical of Swedish folk music, and includes several notable pieces written by renowned Swedish musician and lyricist Evert Taube. |
