Trumpeter Irvin Mayfield was commissioned by the New Orleans Museum of Art in 2000 to compose a suite of music dedicated to the great artist Gordon Parks for the opening of his exhibit "Half Past Autumn," and Mayfield and his quintet performed the music for Parks on opening night of the exhibition. The inspiration for the music came from Parks' photographs as Mayfield matched the photos with musical images. Special guests include Gordon Parks on piano and Wynton Marsalis on trumpet.

Irvin Mayfield compositions (except Wind Song by Gordon Parks) written in honor of Photographer Gordon Parks. the CD includes a CD-ROM component that offers downloadable photos from the exhibition of Parks' photos at the New Orleans Museum of Art, an interview with Parks, and two behind-the-scenes videos of the band during the album's recording sessions. 24 bit technology.
