I truly love this CD! Back in the early seventies, I once purchased this LP with my allowance. This was basically, more or less, the second O’Jays album, after ‘Backstabbers’. I owned the hit 45’s of their first album, (‘Love Train’, ‘Time To Get Down’ and the title track,) but ‘Ship Ahoy’ was my first complete O’Jays LP. At the time, the first big single from this album was, ‘For The Love Of Money’, which ended up being huge for the group! Other staples for them from here were, ‘Put Your Hands Together’ and ‘You’ve Got Your Hooks In Me’. Another great song here is, ‘Now That We’ve Found Love’. A true sweet, romantic O’Jays tune. All in all, this is truly a great album and a classic reminder of how popular and how great Philadelphia Soul really, really is!
