This CD is the premiere recording and release of David Malher's 'La Ciudad...' Tracks 1, 8 and 11 recorded at Mag City, Los Angeles, 1983. Track 2 recorded at New Albion Studios, San Francisco. Track 3 recorded at St. John's College and The Loft, Santa Fe, 1983. Track 4 for three speaker-drinkers with three wine glasses (with mallets) and red wine. Track 5 recorded in concert at the University of Toronto; edited at PASS, New York. Track 6 recorded at Poiema Studios and Mag City, Los Angeles, 1983. Track 7 recorded at Architecture, Los Angeles, 2001. Track 9 recorded at Giant Studios, New York, 1983. Track 10 recorded at City of Light Studios, Los Angeles, 1983. Track 12 recorded at Old Rugged Cross. Track 13 for player piano (tuned to the first 24 partials of the harmonic series on a low A); the piano roll was kindly punched by Conlon Nancarrow in his studio in Mexico City; recorded in Santa Cruz, CA, 1976.
