Description: | The Violin Concerto was first performed in London in 1910 with Fritz Kreisler as the violinist. Korean violinist Dong-Suk Kang seems to have the same ardent spirit here in this fine recording! The great B minor concerto is also given justice in a uniform and well balanced recording. Adrian Leaper gives a mini-impersonation of Adrian Boult in a reading that is sympathetic but never dawdling or sentimental. Kang was a child prodigy and graduated from the Curtis Institute, arguably the toughest, most prestigious music school in the world. He plays with force, technique, and accomplished musicianship.? &© 1991. Made in USA. Comes in standard jewel case. Tray has UPC-style bar code, with ?MADE IN U.S.A.? printed above it. 8pp booklet has notes in English & German. Playing Time 61:10.
Recorded 13-16 April, 1991 at the Concert Hall of the Polish Radio in Katowice.
