 | Description: | Digitally remastered edition of this album from the songwriting legend. Mort Shuman's classic partnership with Doc Pomus produced some of the best known songs in history: "Surrender", "Viva Las Vegas", "Little Sister", "Kiss Me Quick" (Elvis Presley), "Save the Last Dance for Me", "Sweets for My Sweet", "This Magic Moment" (the Drifters), "A Teenager in Love" (Dion And the Belmonts), "Can't Get Used to Losing You" (Andy Williams), "Suspicion" (Terry Stafford), "Seven Day Weekend" (Gary "U.S." Bonds), "Spanish Lace" (Gene McDaniels) the list just goes on and on. In 1965 Shuman came to London, where he wrote many, many more hits. Next, he moved to Paris, writing for such gallic isons as Johnny Hallyday, performing his one man show, and discovering the work of Jacques Brel. During this time, he recorded this, the first of his solo albums....a deeply personal, adult, eccentric, theatrical and songwriting tour de force, wildly off kilter, standing with albums as disparate as Jim Dickinson's "Dixie Fried". Jim Webb's early solo albums, Peter Wyngarde's sole album, and the wilder shores of Serge Gainsbourgh's work... yet remaining a total pop classic! Rev-Ola. 2009.Packaging: standard plastic jewel box case, clear tray, 8 page stapled cover booklet.
