Description:Wunderbar by Riechmann, released 23 July 2009, includes the following tracks: "Weltweit", "Himmelblau" and more. This version of Wunderbar comes as a 1xLP. The vinyl is pressed as a opaque disc. -
Bureau B unearthed one of the best kept secrets of German electronic music. Wolfgang Riechmann's album "Wunderbar" from 1978 contains elements of the Berlin School (Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze) and of the D sseldorf School (Kraftwerk, La D sseldorf, NEU!), and yet has hypnotic, spheral qualities all of it's own. This album, however, is beautiful and tragic in equal measure, as Wolfgang Riechmann fell victim to a knife attack just three weeks before the LP went on sale. He was stabbed in the chest in a chance encounter with a drunk in Dusseldorf's Altstadt, the perpetrator "letting off steam" after a dispute with the landlord of his local pub, as he later recounted in court. With this reissue we take our hats off to Wolfgang Riechmann.

"Wunderbar" is the seminal LP by Wolfgang Riechmann, originally released in 1978 and now reissued by Bureau B/Sky/Indigo. This album stands as a remarkable example of German electronic music from the late '70s, blending cosmic synth textures with hypnotic rhythms that evoke both Kraftwerk and Neu! influences. Tragically, Riechmann's career was cut short when he died shortly before the album?s release, but "Wunderbar" remains his enduring legacy?a visionary work celebrated for its melodic inventiveness and atmospheric depth. The label Bureau B is renowned for its dedication to preserving and reissuing classic krautrock, electronic, and avant-garde recordings from Germany?s rich musical history. Their meticulous approach ensures that albums like "Wunderbar" reach new generations of listeners in pristine quality.
