Description:This Marty Paich led session was intended to showcase Marty's arranging skills and artistic freedom as Mode's musical director. The purpose of this recording was to make an all valve brass + rhythm section ensemble swing. A real bloozer's delight! For the occasion, Don Fagerquist and Jack Sheldon provide the trumpet action, and Stu Williamson and Bob Enevoldsen work the valve trombones. This is pure Marty Paich at his finest. Mode 1957.
Recorded July 1957, Hollywood, California. (P) & (C) V.S.O.P. Records 1996 Only the spine credits the main artist as Marty Paich. Other versions of this recording credit Stu Williamson as the main artist.
