HYUNG RAE K. - 22/May/2021 4 of 5 Stars!
The great acoustic intro leads us into uncompromising but digestable death metal with doom, folk and progressive elements thrown in. The second track showcases those various metal genres. Little to be seen are the later emerging experimental moments but there are some in "Black Embrace", in the doomy "Exile of the sons of Uisliu".

Vladislav M. - 02/Dec/2019 4 of 5 Stars!
Today, few people remember with what brutal music Amorphis came into this world. The raw Death Metal of the old school, gloomy melodies, a rolling growling, attacking performance. On my personal copy there is a bonus with the form Privilege Of Evil EP - аbsolutely anti-human material!

Deutsch Paulos K. - 04/Dec/2018 3 of 5 Stars!
Finish band Amorphis started their career as a death metal group and their first album is a honorable effort to the whole scene.Big things came later but "Karelian"is a debut with attitude!

Deutsch nikos l. - 11/Aug/2014 5 of 5 Stars!
This album is pure death metal in the Goteborg style. Considering this album it stands alone within the discography of this great band because they have never created something like that. For Death Metal fans.
