Description:For the last 20 years, San Francisco's Slough Feg (formerly the Lord Weird Slough Feg) have carved a niche for themselves in the underground as a unique heavy metal band. Fusing traditional metal and classic rock, their anthem songs have attracted a small but devoted cult following. The group is led by vocalist / guitarist Mike Scalzi, a one-time member of Hammers of Misfortune and a front man who draws somewhat unlikely influence from storytelling performers like Robert Goulet. The Animal Spirits is Slough Feg's eighth full-length and the first released by a North American label. A genuine classic American heavy metal record in the making, it captures the essence of what makes the band great. For years, recognition in their homeland has escaped Slough Feg, as their albums have been hard to come by, but with Profound Lore's release of the Animal Spirits, the group is poised to finally get their due.
