Recorded live at The Jazz Workshop, San Francisco, September 1962
"Jazz Workshop Revisited +3 Bo" is a remarkable CD release by the legendary Cannonball Adderley Sextet, brought to you by American Jazz Classics. This album captures one of the most vibrant live performances in jazz history, recorded at San Francisco's Jazz Workshop in 1962. The set features not only Cannonball Adderley's soulful alto saxophone but also showcases his stellar bandmates: Nat Adderley on cornet, Yusef Lateef on tenor sax and flute, Joe Zawinul on piano, Sam Jones on bass, and Louis Hayes on drums. The "+3 Bo" refers to three bonus tracks that further enrich this essential collection for any jazz enthusiast. Cannonball Adderley was a pivotal figure in hard bop and soul jazz; his collaborations with Miles Davis (notably "Kind of Blue") and his own hits like "Mercy Mercy Mercy" have cemented him as an icon of modern jazz. American Jazz Classics is renowned for its high-quality reissues of classic recordings, preserving the legacy of great artists with meticulous remastering and informative liner notes.
