The raunchy bastards of the crippled folk-metal scene return with a twist. This concept album, their 4th (translates as "From the Depths of the Earth") was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios with Nino Laurenne (Ensiferum, Kiuas, Thunderstone) in Oct. 2006. Produced by Trollhorn and Tundra, this album delivers a rather unique mixture of black metal, folk music, punk and gods-know-what, ranging from epic classical symphonies into sheer merengue-inspired brutality with a hint or three of pure madness and creative songwriting. The 55 minute journey is accompanied by a lengthy booklet filled with Skrymer's original artwork and Katla´s lyrics. You won't need to contact your local shaman in order to acquire mushrooms for taking this trip.
