Description:The late Richard Himber was a man of many parts - he led one of the country's finest hotel-style bands for 20 years, was a practicing magician whose innovations were used by generations of that art, was a band manager, hustler, con man and an insane practical joker barred from many of N.Y. finest restaurants. Himber believed in hiring the best musicians and paid them well. This CD features Clyde Hurley (the Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey trumpet star), as well as Hank D'Amico and Art Rollini, plus vocalists Ruthie Vale and Del Casino.
