While last year's AMERICANITIS CD was a politically-charged broadside to the madness of our post-9/11 world, 2007's EP is essentially a folk record, with Eastern-flavored blues romps, an old time prison waltz, love ballads, a working man's anthem, a woozy travelogue, and a spiritual thrown in for good measure. EP showcases Kimbrough's slide, flattop guitar and banjo work, and most of all, his warm voice and literate songwriting. Recorded mostly at home, with floorboards creaking, birds singing, cars passing and children sneaking by, EP is Will Kimbrough's intimate work to date.
