Description:This is the second CD collection of music by The Sedalia Ragtime Orchestra, a performing unit based in Thousand Oaks, California that plays music from the Ragtime Era (1897-1917). As with our first CD, this collection focuses on rags by Scott Joplin, but also includes waltzes, marches, and popular tunes from the early days of Tin Pan Alley. The CD includes the full orchestra as well as a few songs by smaller ensembles, including a brass quartet and flute/clarinet duo. Scintillating vocals by regulars Holly O'Hair, Irene Silbert, and Steve Perren bring back the innocent times of a century ago when small town concerts were presented all over middle America. Tracks: Midnight Fire Alarm / Pine Apple Rag / Iola / Rose Room / Pickles & Peppers / the Chrysanthemum / Put Your Arms Around Me, Honey / Fun on the Levee / Alexander's Ragtime Band / Country Club Rag / High Society / If You Love Me, Darling, Tell Me with Your Eyes / Elite Syncopations / Red Rose Rag / Binks' Waltz / Dixie Blossoms / Red Wing / Spirit of Independence.
