This recording reissues the 1978 Davis Unlimited release of legendary Texas fiddler, Vernon Solomon which also includes previously unreleased recordings of Western Swing pioneer, Sleepy Johnson. Texas Breakdown features masterful renditions of beloved contest standards like "Sally Goodin", a swinging blues with a full band, and hymn tunes like "What a Friend We Have In Jesus". Solomon's compositional skills also see attention on original unes "Texas Breakdown" and "The Ruby Waltz". This Spring Fed Records reissue of Texas Breakdown includes all 11 original cuts from the original 1978 Davis Unlimited release. It also features 4 cuts by Western Swing pioneer, Clifford G. "Sleepy" Johnson reissued here for the first time, it was only found on a rare, self-titled 45 rpm release. Each track on this reissue of Texas Breakdown were remastered by Martin Fisher. The package includes the original album art and liner notes.
