Vital Duo is the new band created by the PAYSSAN twin brothers, who are MINIMUM VITAL's guitarist and keyboards player. They intend to work with the inspirational sources of their original band's music: baroque and ancient music, folk influences from various countries are magnified in order to create a totally original musical world led by acoustic instruments which are sometimes electrified, or supported by a few vocals. Vital Duo's first album, called "Ex Tempore" (2001), was warmly welcomed by both fans of medieval music and fans of progressive rock. And that's precisely what Jean-Luc & Thierry PAYSSAN are good at - mixing traditional with electricity, minstrels with songwriters, Guillaume de MACHAUT with YES. "Le Jardin Hors Du Temps" (2002) is Vital Duo's first DVD, recorded in the beautiful frame of Mussonville's chapel, near Bordeaux. Surrounded by their bunch of traditional and modern instruments, the twins manage to delight the audience with their intimate, simple and refined.
