This recording is not only an excursion into the "organ no-man's-land" between baroque and rococo, it is also an excellent portrait of the Gabler organ in the Basilica in Weingarten. All the composers presented here were pupils of Johann Sebastian Bach, including the Erfurth organist Joh.
