This is Scott Amendola's second CD as a leader. Best known as the drummer for Charlie Hunter's Quartet, Amendola draws from influences such as African music, jazz, blues, spirituals, rock and the avant garde. Of special note is the moving version of Bob Dylan's "Masters Of War" sung by The Geraldine Fibbers' vocalist Carla Bozulich. Amendola's band features guitarist Nels Cline, violinist Jenny Scheinman, saxophonist Eric Crystal and bassist Todd Sickafoose.
